Visit by the Queensland Fire Service

Visit by Queensland Fire Service

Students in P - 2 were visited by members of the Queensland Fire Service based at Hendra.

The students were shown how to be safe in a fire, and had to demonstrate to the firemen how to do things like;

"Get down low, and go, go, go!"

The students saw the equipment the firemen need to do their job safely and protect other members of the community.

A highlight for all the children, was, of course, the fire engine.  With its gadgets,  sirens and flashing lights it was a big hit with everyone.

By far the most exciting part of the day for the children was the opportunity to get the hose off the back of the fire engine, and water the lawn!

The staff and students express their gratitude to the officers and men of the Queensland Fire Service, based at Hendra, for their time and fire safety knowledge.
